Salary Payments Statement Salary payments for all employees will be made through the regular Board of Education payroll system. No salary or payments for services by individuals will be made from general or cafeteria funds. Social security, state and federal withholding forms and employee payroll information reports must be completed and submitted to Human Resources before an employee's name will be added to the payroll listings. Any changes in salary or employment status must be approved by the Director of Human Resources. Employees will be paid twice each month on the day closest to the 15th of each month and the lastworking day of each month. The annual salary is paid in twenty (20) equal installments for 182-day employees, 184-day employees, and 190-day employees; twenty-one (21) equal installments for 220-day employees; or twenty-four (24) equal installments for 260-day employees. 24-Pay Plan Statement The Board of Education offers an optional 24-pay plan for employees working less than 12 months. Upon completion of the appropriate form, which is available at the work site, the specified percentage of the net payroll is withheld from each paycheck. The amount of money accumulated from this deduction will be evenly divided across a number of extra payments depending on the number of months an employee is employed. These payments will be paid on the Board of Education's regularly scheduled semi-monthly pay dates starting with the mid-July pay date of the following school year and will continue each pay date thereafter until all extra payments are received. These payments will be paid in the same manner as the June end-of- month payroll payment, either payroll check or automatic direct deposit or a combination of both. Authorization for deductions is in effect for the duration of the school year and cannot be withdrawn during the school year. If you choose to terminate your 24-Pay Plan, then you must wait two consecutive school years to rejoin. Full details may be obtained from payroll personnel in the Finance Department. If an employee resigns or employment is terminated before the end of the school year, the withheld funds will be paid in a lump sum within thirty (30) days from the date of termination. An alternate plan for saving for the summer months would be to join the Credit Union, which pays interest on the money on deposit.
