●​ Bus Ramp for Bus Riders and Heritage Trace Walkers Transportation Changes: A written note, email, or fax is required whenever a student's afternoon transportation plan changes. For the safety of our students, phone calls alone cannot be accepted. All transportation changes must be submitted in writing and received by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the change. Only adults age 18 or older who are listed on the student's emergency contact information may pick up a student. Walker Expectations: Students in Grades 3-5 may walk home independently. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 2 must be accompanied by a person 13 years of age or older. WCPS Early Dismissal Days: At Pemberton, we will start dismissal from 12:15 pm - 12:45 pm with our buses, within our Front Office, at the Walker Gate and at Car Riders. Please ensure that your child is picked up at this time and that someone is able to be at the bus stop to receive your child if your child is a Bus Rider. We thank you for your attention to this message. All early dismissals must be completed by 12:00 p.m on these days. Families needing to pick up a student before the end of the school day will need to report to the main entrance no later than 12:00 p.m. As a reminder, our Bus Loop is closed during arrival and dismissal as we must reserve the loop closest to the school for our buses only. Transportation change requests must be received by 10:00 a.m. on these early dismissal days. Attendance Policy Full-day Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5: A student is counted as present for a full day if the student is in attendance for 4 hours or more of the school day. A student is counted as present for a ½ day if the student is in attendance for at least 2 hours of the school day, but less than 4 hours.
