70 ▪ Option to use only if required to touch surfaces contaminated by body fluids • To minimize exposure, drivers should refrain from exiting their school bus while on school property or congregate in any manner. • If you become ill during your route, contact your school bus contractor or supervisor immediately. • Do not report to work if you: o Have a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit o Show symptoms of COVID 19 which would include, but not limited to: ▪ Body aches/chills ▪ Sore throat ▪ Loss of taste/smell ▪ Cough ▪ Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea ▪ Other cold/flu-like symptoms • All bus personnel will be required to successfully complete their in-service training prior to transporting students which will include COVID-19 related topics as well as a review of these guidelines. STUDENTS • WCPS families will need to opt-in for student transportation during the limited transportation phase of instruction. o Students will be identified by the schools as to who needs in-person instruction. o Once these students have been identified, a COVID Parent Agreement must be completed electronically and verified by the school before transportation will commence. o Transportation will only be provided for students who would be eligible under normal circumstances. • Face coverings will be required for all students ages 3 and older while riding the school bus • Face coverings and proper physical distancing is strongly recommended while waiting at the bus stop • Use hand sanitizer upon boarding the bus (if available) • Sit only in the seat to which you are assigned (AM/Midday/PM) • While waiting to exit the bus, remain seated and do not congregate in the aisle • Do not go to school if you: o Have a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit o Show symptoms of COVID-19 ▪ Body aches/chills ▪ Cough ▪ Sore throat ▪ Other cold/flu-like symptoms PHYSICAL CONFIGURATION OF THE SCHOOL BUS • Keeping the seat immediately behind the driver empty during every trip unless the student resides in the same household as the bus driver to maximize the distance between students and the bus driver. • Maximum number of students per full-size bus will be 22-24 students unless transporting students from the same household. o Students who reside in the same household will be required to sit together and be counted as one student to maximize seating capacity. • To ensure physical distancing: o Only one student will be assigned to each bus seat alternating left to right (as depicted in picture on next page) unless they reside in the same household o All students will have assigned seats ▪ To the maximum extent possible, seats will be assigned based on the route loading students from the rear of the school bus and working forward. • To increase/improve airflow:
