For half-credit courses, one marking term in length, the marking term grade will count as 625 the final grade for the course. 626 7. Semester-based Courses (2 marking terms in length) - each marking period grade will count 627 as one-half (½, 50%) of the final grade. If a student earns an E or D in the first term of a 628 semester course, they can have no lower than a D in the final term to earn a passing grade. 629 8. Full-year courses (4 marking terms in length) - each marking period grade will count one- 630 fourth (1/4, 25%) of the final grade. Earning a D in term 4 does not supersede the 631 requirement for the final grade to calculate to a passing grade If a student earns an E or D 632 average at the end of term 3 for a full year course, they can earn no lower than a D in the 633 final term to earn a passing grade. 634 9. For courses with End of Course Assessments (EOC), the E or D rule outlined in statements 635 7 and 8 will not be applied. This applies only to first time 9th grade students during the 636 2023-2024 school year and subsequent classes taking biology and government courses. 637 10.
