Students will be given the number of days equal to the number of days absent to 709 turn in completed make-up work. When possible, assignments may be provided 710 prior to a lawful absence if requested by the parent/guardian at least two weeks in 711 advance of the absence and approved by the principal or designee. Submission of 712 the makeup work provided prior to a lawful absence is due upon the return to 713 school unless extenuating circumstances have been documented by the 714 parent/guardian. 715 b. The make-up procedure for long-term (six days or more) absence will require the 716 following: 717 i. The student/parent/guardian must request the missed assignments. 718 ii. Teachers are responsible for providing make-up work upon request for students 719 who are lawfully or unlawfully absent. 720 iii. A reasonable timeline for the completion of the work will be established. 721 15. Summer School Grading 722 a. Each marking period (2) will count one-half (½,50%) of the f inal grade. 723 b. Transcript will reflect both the original course grade and the summer school course 724 grade. However, the summer school course grade will not appear on the transcript 725 until the end of the following academic year. 726 c. When determining eligibility for 1st marking term extracurricular activities, the 727 summer school final course grade will replace the 4th marking term grade for that 728 course from the previous school year. The grade point average from the 4th marking 729 term of the previous school year will then be recalculated to determine eligibility for 730 1st term extracurricular activities. 731 16. Withdrawal from a Course 732 Students who withdraw from a semester course after the 1st progress reports are issued, 733 will receive a failing grade for that semester course. Exceptions must receive the approval 734 from the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. 735 17. Honor Roll 736 High school students will be considered on the honor roll provided they have a 3.0 737 GPA for the given marking period. 738 18. High School Credit for Courses Taken in Middle School 739 Options for high school credit bearing courses taken in middle school are outlined in the 740 annual High School Catalog of Courses. 741 19. Dual Enrollment 742 School counselors will follow current standard operating procedures as outlined in the 743 annual High School Catalog of Courses for classes taken in college as part of dual 744 enrollment programs. 745 20.
