3 identification to ensure student safety. Beaver Run uses the Raptor System which scans your identification against a nation wide offender data base to ensure student safety. If you plan to pick your child up every afternoon, one note may be sent at the beginning of the school year. However, if on any day you change this procedure, you must send another note informing us of the changes. Please help us by following these guidelines: • Car riders will be dismissed to the portable at 3:25 PM. Please park in the side parking lot and proceed through the gate to the portable. If you need to enter the school building during arrival or dismissal, please park in the side parking lot. The front bus loop is for buses only from 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM. Please adhere to the posted signs in the bus loop. • If you are coming for your child for the occasional one day, you must come to the office and sign him/her out. We can call these children between 3:20 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. • Unless we have a note from you, or you are here before 3:30 to get your child, all children who ride a bus will ride it home. • PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO MAKE CHANGES REGARDING YOUR CHILD'S DISMISSAL BY TELEPHONE. We cannot be sure to whom we are talking and the possibility of dismissing a child to someone with whom the child should not be released is too great. Please understand we will deny these requests. In addition, please note that we will not accept verbal messages from students about dismissal changes. Your child's safety is much too important for us to use this procedure. EARLY DISMISSAL If a student must leave school early, or go home differently from what is on the student’s Pupil Data Sheet, a note indicating such changes must be written by the parent and given to the teacher in the morning. For security reasons phone calls cannot be accepted, a written note is required which can include an email to Carmen Carey ccarey@wcboe.org or Nancy Myer nmyer@wcboe.org (to ensure your request is received please Cc: Cindy Becker cbecker@wcboe.org and Parris Abt pabt@wcboe.org ) or send a fax (410-677-5904) by noon on the day of the desired change. LATE OPENINGS/EARLY CLOSINGS Announcements concerning any changes in the regular school schedule will be made throug h our automated prerecorded telephone calling system, on the local radio and television stations, and on our website: www.wcboe.org . You may also call 410-677-5100 for a recorded message. Please do not call the school, radio station s, or the Board of Education offices regarding these weather related schedule changes. Automated Prerecorded Telephone Message System The automated and prerecorded telephone message system is used to alert parents of upcoming events within our school and to contact families when children are absent. Please share with the office the number that should receive messages. Phone numbers must be accurate in order to receive the message. Please be sure your phone number is up to date each month. These are the same numbers we will turn to if your child is involved in an accident or injury while in school therefore the numbers you give us must be accurate. Please notify us each time your home, cell or work numbers change! CLASSROOM INTERRUPTIONS-INSTRUCTIONAL TIME AND STUDENT SAFETY We ask visitors to report to the school office before visiting classrooms between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The purpose of this request is: 1. When people enter classrooms, the instructional time is interrupted. 2. There are people who might go to classrooms for purposes that do not support the safety of our children. Unless it is absolutely necessary, we do not interrupt lessons. Again, we do this for the safety of all children.
