6 First and Second Grades Grade O, S, NI A, B, C, D, or E First Grade Handwriting, Special Areas Reading, Mathematics, Language, Science, Social Studies, Media Second Grade Handwriting, Special Areas Reading, Mathematics, Language, Spelling, Science, Social Studies, Media PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES Teachers are encouraged to request parent conferences as the need arises. They may do this with the report card request or they may contact you by your child’s agenda, a note , or a phone call. Parents should also request conferences with teachers. The best procedure for these requests is to send a note to your child's teacher(s) for an appointment. The teacher(s) will respond to your note with an appointment time. Questions and concerns should be discussed with the teacher(s) involved. If you feel further discussion is necessary, a conference with the principal or assistant principal may be requested. This should be done, however, after you have first talked with the teacher(s). SCHOOL RULES 1. Students should not arrive before 8:30 a.m. 2. Skateboards, roller skates and roller blades are not allowed. 3. A note from home is required when students will go home differently than they arrived. TELEPHONE REQUESTS can not be honored . See p ge 3 for details 4. Students must use the sidewalks for safety. 5. Students must walk quietly in hallways, breezeways and on sidewalks. 6. There must be no running in hallways, breezeways and on sidewalks. 7. No pofane and/or abusive language. 8. Buying, selling and trading anything is not allowed. 9. Chewing gum is not allowed. 10. Hats are not to be worn in school buildings. 11. Baseballs, basketballs, bats and Frisbees are not to be brought to school. 12. Weapons and/or dangerous objects may not be brought to school UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 13. Toys and games may not be brought to school unless the teacher sends a request IN WRITING to parents. 14. In accordance with County and Consistant Attire Program dress-code, students are expected to wear closed shoes. Halter tops or other revealing clothing are not allowed. CAFETERIA RULES 1. Table manners are a must and are to be displayed at all times. 2. Quiet conversation is permissible until the last 5 minutes of each lunch shift. 3. No talking is permitted during the last 5 minutes of each lunch shift. 4. Students who misbehave may be moved to another table. 5. Students are to move in an orderly fashion into the cafeteria and through the serving line. 6. Students must sit at assigned seats/tables. 7. Social visits from table to table are not permitted. 8. Students cannot get up without permission. 9. Each class is responsible for the cleanliness of their area and for washing their tables. 10. Sodas are NOT allowed. No glass containers for any beverage. 11. Line-up time should be done quickly and quietly. SCHOOL BUS RULES 1. The bus driver has absolute control of the bus and of the conduct of those on it. Students are expected to obey the bus driver. 2. If students have to cross the road when boarding or leaving the bus, they are to WALK IN FRONT OF THE BUS . The driver can then warn students of danger. They are to look both ways before crossing the road. 3. Students are to enter and leave the bus by the front door. The back door is for emergency use only. Do not touch it, except in case of an emergency. 4. Students are expected to promptly take the seat assigned to them. 5. Students are to sit facing forward, keeping hands, arms and head inside the bus window, and keeping feet, legs, books and belongings out of the aisle.
