1. When you are dismissed to go to lunch, you are to report directly to the cafeteria. Use either serving area in the cafeteria. Make lines against the wall. Line cutting is not permitted. Only 5 students at one time will be allowed in the serving area. 2. Sit in your assigned location in the cafeteria. Tables and seats will be assigned by class. Seats should not be reserved for anyone. Students are to be seated and may not move from table to table. 3. If you are eating in another area, a pre-signed lunch pass must be given to lunch duty staff prior to leaving 4. If you bring your lunch, you may buy milk, ice cream and other a la carte items at the serving station in the center of the cafeteria. 5. Unless you have permission, no food is to be removed from the cafeteria and carried outside or back into any part of the building. 6. If you need to report to another area of the building to eat your lunch, please ask the cafeteria staff to put your food on a disposable tray so as not to remove the reusable tray from the cafeteria area. 7. DO NOT PUT CHEWING GUM ON THE TABLE!!!! When you have finished eating, all trash is to be emptied into the trash bin. 8. Before leaving your table, be sure your area is clean for the next group entering the cafeteria. 9. When lunch is over, you are to report directly to your class as you are dismissed. 10. Failure to cooperate with the above procedures will be handled in accordance with the Code of Conduct. Student Advisory Student Advisory is an educational support program If you need help improving academic performance, attendance and social relationships. You may be referred to Student Advisory through the following individuals: self, peer, parent, teacher, and/or administration. For additional information, contact the Guidance office. DAILY CYCLE The middle school operates on an A/B schedule. Most classes will meet every day (A & B day). Related Arts classes meet every-other day. Days will always follow sequentially regardless of days missed for holidays, weather, etc. DETENTIONS If you are assigned an after-school detention, you are required to serve the detention. The detention slip must be signed by your parent/guardian and returned to the appropriate teacher. If you fail to stay for the assigned detention, the teacher will contact your parent/guardian and reassign the detention one time. If you fail to stay for the reassigned detention, further disciplinary action will result. DRESS CODE See the Dress Code in the Wicomico County Code of Conduct section. ELECTRONIC DEVICES Electronic devices should be left at home. Handheld gaming systems will not be allowed in any classrooms. Cell phones are allowed at lunch time and before/after the school day only. Cell phones should not be out at any other time (hallways, classrooms). Teachers will follow progressive discipline for any violations. We follow the Wicomico County Acceptable Use of Technology Policy. ENTERING AND EXITING THE BUILDING You may enter the building at 7:20 am. If you are eating breakfast: 6th Grade Bus Riders - Students entering the building from the bus loop will go up stairway B at the end of the breezeway. At the top of stairway B, there will be a breakfast cart for 6th grade students. Students will pick up their breakfast and report to homeroom and remain out of the hallway. 6th Grade Walkers and Car Riders - will report in the east side door. Students will walk down the guidance hallway to the 6th grade area. Students will pick up breakfast at their breakfast cart and report to their designated homeroom to eat. 7th Grade: Bus Riders - Students will enter the building from the bus loop and take the 7th grade stairs (stairwell C) to the 7th grade hallway. Breakfast will be served in the hallway for students to pick up and take to their homeroom. 7th Grade Walkers and Car Riders - will enter through the east side door and take a right into the 7th grade hallway. They will pick up breakfast from the cart and report to their homeroom. 8th Grader Bus Riders - Students will enter the building from the bus loop and take the 8th grade stairs (Stairwell E) to the third floor (8th grade hallway), pick up breakfast in the 8th grade hallway and report to homeroom. 8th Grade Walkers and Car Riders - will enter through the east side door and go directly up the 8th grade stairs(Stairwell E) to the third floor (8th grade hallway), pick up breakfast in the 8th grade hallway and report to homeroom. Important Reminders -No one will be allowed to enter the building early without written permission. At dismissal time, you are to leave the building quickly and quietly. You are not to remain in the building unless you are under the direct supervision of a teacher or administrator. First wave bus students report to the bus loop at dismissal, second wave bus students report to the gym and sit by bus number until your bus is called. Walkers and car riders dismiss from the East Side door (by room A249). FIRE DRILLS Each classroom has a set of directions for leaving the building during a fire drill. These directions are posted by the exit door. Read these directions and learn what to do in the event of a drill or fire. When the bell sounds, move quickly and in an orderly manner towards the exit. Do not run. When outside the building, you should move with your class to a reasonable distance from the school and remain in single file with your class. You should return to the school with your teacher when signaled. If the fire bell rings at lunchtime, you should exit on the side of the cafeteria and move in an orderly manner
